THIS MODERN BELGIAN FARMHOUSE, though not a common style in Connecticut, has become one of our most-referenced projects. Steep roof pitches, a fieldstone-and-stucco exterior, a slate roof, and oversized steel windows are all trademarks of the style. The design was largely influenced by a tight job site, which required us to think vertically.
Our client, a couple with three children, love to entertain. Off of the kitchen is a butler’s pantry and large great room. In the basement is a theater, game room, and wine cellar with high-top seating for tastings at home. By the outdoor pool is a terrace with plenty of dining and living space, as well as a counter at the window that functions like a bar.
